Pattern Inspiration: Cocoon Coat

September 23, 2014

As the air turns crisp, it’s time to think about which sweaters to knit for the season. Just out is a lovely new design which appears in the Fall 2014 issue of Vogue Knitting magazine, the Cocoon Coat by Kathy Merrick.

This stunning long coat is knit in our Worsted Hand Dyes (shown here in #2012 cranberry and #2015 putty), and it would be great addition to your wardrobe. Clever features such as Fair Isle accents, set-in sleeves and slanted knit-in pockets make the Cocoon Coat the perfect layering piece for autumn.

Our Facebook and Instagram fans may have noticed a new feature we have started recently called Colorway Wednesday. Each week, we’ll share a palette of Blue Sky Apacas yarns inspired by the photography of Chad Niemeyer. Shown above is last week’s palette, which featured Blue Sky Alpacas Sport Weight yarn in #537 Buttercup, #535 Blue Jay, #543 Celery, #521 Tangerine, and #505 Taupe. We hope that folks find this new feature useful for choosing interesting and new color combinations for their next project!
