Skating (sort of) with Sylvia

September 6, 2013

How can you not love a flirty, feminine sweater like Sylvia?

Last week we introduced you to the Sasha Wrap, one of our new winter styles. Today, we’re continuing the frosty fashion preview, heading back to the ice on a fully frozen Lake George. This time around Emma is wearing a lovely lace layering piece that we’re calling the Sylvia Sweater. Don’t you just love it? Our stylist, Bethany, slipped it over a lace top (something I would never have thought to do) and it looks fabulous.

Warming up.

It was a perfect winter wonderland on the lake, but boy does it get cold. Luckily Minnesotan models are made of tough stuff: not one had a complaint about the weather or location. It helped that we built ourselves a little house on the ice to keep warm.

Prepping for the shot!

The sun was shinning which helped warm things up, but magnified the blinding effect of the ice and snow. Here, Bethany is giving Emma some direction and tips for avoiding the sun’s glare.

It’s all in the details. A close-up of the Sylvia lace pattern.

All that pretty lace detailing on Sylvia is what makes the sweater special and believe it or not, it’s really pretty simple to knit. You can adjust the depth of the neckline by seaming more or less of the lace together for a perfect fit.
