Big Needles, Big Lace

Photo © Grace Akhrem

Grace Akhrem’s newest design, Rippling Lace, is a swingy, versatile vest, great for layering. Knit in Blue Sky Alpacas Worsted Hand Dyes with large needles (size 11, 8mm), I love the scale of this lace. Using larger needles with such an open stitch is something I haven’t seen done before with the Worsted Hand Dyes–it creates a beautiful fluidity. I’m hesitant to say it, but I’m really looking forward to autumn!
